WhatsApp numbers and sessions
Each session is a WhatsApp number linked to a sub-account. You manage them from the WhatsApp Numbers tab in sub-account detail.

Create a session
- Click Add Session (or equivalent).
- Pick a clear name (sales line, support, etc.).
- If sync options with GHL appear (contacts, tags), enable only what your workflow needs.
- Confirm creation and follow steps to pair the number.
QR code
- On your phone open WhatsApp → Linked devices and scan the QR shown in WhatGHL.
- If the code expires, generate or request a new one on the same screen.
Reconnecting
If the session shows reconnecting, the system may recover the session without scanning again. Wait a few minutes. If it does not improve, check the phone’s connection and sign in to WhatsApp again if needed.
Priority
When a priority field exists, it orders or weights sessions when several share usage; ask your agency how your organization applies it.
You can force which session sends an outbound message from GHL using #WH (by priority) as described in Message codes from GoHighLevel.
Common actions
- Start / stop the session as the UI allows.
- Delete a session only when you no longer need it; it can cut active conversations on that number.
Link with GHL
If you see contact or conversation data from GHL next to the session, there is an association between that number and a resource in GHL. Details depend on your setup.
