Embedded use in GoHighLevel
Your agency can open WhatGHL inside GoHighLevel (in an embedded frame in the sidebar or on a custom page). Teams stay in GHL while managing WhatsApp sessions, sub-account settings, support, and—depending on context—the agency dashboard.
The embedded experience reuses the same screens as the web app, but scoped to the context GHL passes in (full agency or a single location).
Agency view vs sub-account view
GHL can launch WhatGHL in two different scopes. Navigation and available screens change accordingly:
| Context | Who sees it | What it shows |
|---|---|---|
| Agency view | Users with agency-level access in GHL | Dashboard, the full sub-accounts list, Agencies, and Support. Use this to operate many locations from one place. |
| Sub-account view (location) | Users inside one GHL location | Only that location’s sub-account: Sessions, AI & Translation, Voice, Connection, Billing, Notifications, Groups, and the other detail tabs. No global list or multi-location management. |
In sub-account view, WhatGHL reads the active location (activeLocation) and loads that line’s settings directly. In agency view, you can switch between sub-accounts like in the standalone app.
Embedded screen for sub-accounts
This is the most common day-to-day view inside a location: connect WhatsApp, manage sessions, and tune AI, voice, or routing without leaving GHL.
You can also control whether WhatGHL appears in each location’s GHL sidebar menu:
In the web app, open Sub Accounts and use the eye icon on each row to show or hide WhatGHL in that location’s GoHighLevel sidebar. When multiple sub-accounts are selected, you can apply this in bulk.
Some agencies also expose WhatsApp Commands (template generator) and Support in the embedded chrome, using the same visual theme (background, font, light/dark scheme) the agency configured.
If something fails
- Reload the view in GHL or reopen WhatGHL from the sidebar menu.
- Try another browser or a private window if cookies or extensions block the embedded frame.
- Make sure your GHL session has not timed out.
